Sometimes, the best meals come from a little Instagram inspiration and a lot of improvisation. Last night, I threw together a creamy, flavourful spaghetti dish that turned out chef’s kiss delicious, so I had to share! The best part? It’s a one-pan dish – which means minimal washing up but maximum flavour!
Big shoutout to @reemasfood for the inspiration behind this dish!
How I Made It – All in One Pan!
I started by frying some bacon lardons in a little oil until they were golden and crispy. Then, I tossed in some mushrooms, letting them soak up all that smoky goodness until soft. Once cooked, I removed them from the pan, leaving behind all those rich, flavorful juices.
Next, I softened a white onion in the same pan, letting it absorb all the leftover bacon-y goodness. Once the onion was nice and soft, I crumbled in a stock cube and added boiling water – creating a rich, flavourful base for the pasta.
Here’s where the one-pan magic happens: I added spaghetti straight into the pan, cooking it in the stock instead of boiling it separately. This meant the pasta absorbed all the flavors, making the dish even tastier while also saving on washing up (win-win!).
Once the spaghetti was perfectly soft and the stock had mostly been absorbed, I poured in some double cream, making everything rich and velvety. Then, I added the bacon and mushrooms back in, letting it all simmer together until it reached the perfect creamy consistency.
Finally, I topped it off with Parmesan cheese and a sprinkle of fresh parsley – because what’s pasta without a bit of cheese and a fancy finishing touch?
This recipe is officially a new go-to for me! Would you give it a go? Let me know if you have any other favorite one-pan meals – I’m always up for trying something new! 🍝✨
